lit(var) sounds nostalgic and is used perfectly during the climax of the plot. The first 43 seconds of the track is the same as lit, but then it just explodes to symbolize the character's emotional growth. It's one the most impactful scenes I have witnessed in a movie where both the visuals and the audio work together brilliantly.
The soundtrack is very cohesive in term of intensity and mood, so even though the rest of the tracks definitely are solid, none of them clearly stand out to me. The music emulates the character's coming-of-age story, by using minimal notes and instruments (mostly only piano), but also varying the intensity and put notes that are out of place in some of the tracks. A lot of the tracks also sound somewhat muted, maybe to depict a kind of emotional suppresion in some of the character's. However it might also be trying to imply some sort of depression or sadness.
Some of the tracks stick out quite a bit as they sound like they're from a video game:
The scene which frc accompanies is just...,
...,
though...
It skillfuly conveys how time is ticking uneasily towards "something" and then when it happens, it stops abruptly. You'll have to watch the movie to get the full value of this track. Fractal is a longer version of the same track, but not used in the movie.
Let's end this with a happy track 😊 svg
