Main Menu is a good atmospheric menu theme utilizing jamming and shredding guitar to create a sense of tension. However, the track also varies its intensity and has some section that act as a respite before the beat picks up again. This works very well to emulate the drag-and-pull of a tense battle.
Creature Viewer uses the sound of a foul wind and a ghostly minimal guitar to create an unnerving and eerie atmosphere.
Deck Building is a quirky and aloof-sounding track, which fits quite well to the theme of deck building.
The game has several areas you visit regularly, each with its own theme:
Library oozes serenity and tranquility, brought forward by its use of light acoustic guitar string plucking, gentle piano and flute.
Mall is very laid-back and sounds like something that could play in the background on some beach resort vacation episode of some tv show.
Park fits its title well, giving of a laid-back vibe.
Each civilization you can use has its own short victory and defeat tune:
- Darkness Defeat
- Darkness Victory
- Fire Defeat
- Fire Victory
- Nature Defeat
- Nature Victory
- Water Defeat
- Water Victory
It also has two atmospheric themes for each type of civilization arena. None of them really stand out though, but that's how atmospheric background tracks should be; not taking focus away from the gameplay itself. This enchances the strategic theme of the game in my opinion.
Water Arena for instance uses strange water-like echo-y sounds and bubbling to cement the vibe of the water arena. While Light Arena uses subtle choir-like voices to give of an ethereal feel.
