The series' chaotic, emotional and surreal narrative intertwined with The Pillows' japanese alternative rock makes for a fun experience. The Pillows have crafted a unique charm for the show, with a soundtrack that sounds both sentimental and carefree.
Funny Bunny really captures the feeling of time just passing by; happy and yet sad at the same time.
The overdriving guitar intro to Crazy Sunshine gives of such a hopeful, happy and highly energetic vibe.
Carnival on the other hand is more laid-back vibe due to it's slower tempo.
Ride on Shooting Start is used as both the opening and the ending theme of each episode, which is also probably the reason for being The Pillows' most played track on Spotify.
Little Busters radiates freedom and defiance, with tasteful distorted power chords giving of a raw, garage-rock feel. One can't help but feel inspired while listening to this track.
Last Dinosaur is the track used for the climax of the plot. It's running tempo and fast-paced guitar riff cements that time is running out.
Advice is easily the most rebellious and punk-infused track of the bunch. It's angry vocals, grungy guitars and repetitive verse pattern evokes defiance and chaos.
Favorites
Really hard to rank these against each other honestly, but Carnival is definitely on top.
