Didn't enjoy Pokémon X & Y that much compared to other games in the series, so this review is going to be a bit damped.
The second part of Snowbelle City where the melody changes sounds like something from another classical JRPG game. I think I hear some bits of Chrono Trigger or possibly Dragon Quest in there.
Kalos Region Theme has a hopeful and adventurous spirit to it.
The battle themes are pretty good in this game, as per usual for pokémon. Many of them incorporate electronic elements, like a pulsating beat:
- Battle! (Friend)
- Battle! (Wild Pokémon)
- Battle! (Trainer Battle)
- Battle! (Gym Leader)
- Battle! (Successor Korrina)
- Battle! (Team Flare)
- Battle! (Xerneas/Yveltal)
- Battle! (Lysandre)
- Battle! (Elite Four)
- Battle! (Champion)
Think my favorite out of these is the Battle! (Friend) one, the rest feel kinda flat unfortunately 🙁.
Surf is a beautiful little serenade of a track.
The Kalos Power Plant is an interseting and cool electronic track.
Laverre City sound a bit like something that would fit as a dungeon theme in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
Dendemille Town sounds medieval.
Anistar City has a clear sound and ticking in the background to evoke the sundial's presence in the city.
An Eternal Prison is a nice balad.
Kiloude City is an optimistic and upbeat city-theme.
How About a Song? "Jubilife City" has that classy hazzy feel to. It's a Jubilife City
Super Training! is a short bopping track.
Mewtwo got it's own legendary battle-theme in this game as well Battle! (Mewtwo)
