Hard to pick any favorites from this soundtrack. I feel like all the minimal use of different instruments to cement the atmosphere of the surrounding area and how some of the tracks are quite subtle in their tone make it hard to pick any that stand out. Many tracks have an ethereal vibe to them, while some sound quite dramatic.
The Nest for instance conveys a sense of urgency using fast violins and deep brass/horns.
Forest is a serene and beautiful track.
The next area is Sentinel I, whose theme starts with unnerving horn (?) of some kind. Its slow pace and constant deep percussion create a sense of something lurking in the shadows.
Sentinel 2 is in comparison a bit faster in tempo, mostly using violins and flutes as the prominent instruments in the first section. The relentless attack on the strings and the heavy percussion introduced later cements the urgency and intensity of the hurdle in the game.
Victorious is a good and epic heroic track, but it also sounds like it's hinting at an upcoming danger.
Favorites
This is truly a game where the soundtrack enchances the emotional depth and narrative. To get the full experience you'll have to play the game. (I just watched a let's play of the whole game, since I didn't own a PS 4 at the time 🙁)
